Guillermo Fernandez, Director

Guillermo Fernandez


Guillermo Fernandez is the Chief Financial Officer at Stop and Compare supermarkets. He has a wealth of experience spanning ten years in Finance and Accounting with a focus on retail business. He graduated with an MBA from Cambridge College and an Executive Leadership Development Program from Cornell University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Accountancy at Boise State University. Driven by a passion for community service, Guillermo serves as a Treasurer at One Child, One Simile Foundation, and a former Board member of Chelsea Chamber of Commerce. Besides spending time with his wife and dog (Yuca), Guillermo also enjoys biking, climbing, and playing soccer.

Johanna Mateo, Director Chelsea Business Foundation

Johanna Mateo


Johanna grew up in Chelsea, Massachusetts where she developed an interest in politics and education through her experience with the education system. She recently received her master’s degree in Politics and Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Johanna loves traveling and photography and during her free time she enjoys spending time with her puppy, Pablo.

Irene works at the Senior Center of Chelsea, and also is the owner of La Cancun Restaurant, as a local business owner for more than 10 years, she is well integrated in the community and has a deep understanding of challenges East Boston restaurants face. Irene has also been a member of EBMS board since 2018. Fluent in English and Spanish. In addition to her commitment to her family and the East Boston community, Irene also instructs group fitness courses at LA Fitness.

Phyllis Barajas, Director Chelsea Business Foundation

Phyllis Barajas


Phyllis is a Social Entrepreneur who works addressing the impact of changing demographics; especially the Hispanic-Latino demographic, the second largest demographic in the US. Active in Latino leadership and community building - In 2005 launched an executive mentoring program for mid career Latino professionals called “Conexión-Advancing Latino Leadership” and serves as the Chief Executive Officer. These individuals are matched with executive mentors from another company. The approach taken is based on the concept of "social capital and reciprocal social networks" - The reciprocal nature of the executive mentoring continues to build our understanding of executive leadership in a dynamic environment.

Yvonne Garcia, Director

Yvonne Garcia


Yvonne Garcia serves as Chief of Staff to State Street’s Chairman and CEO, Ron O’Hanley and as Global Head of Communications and is Chairwoman of the Greater Boston Chamber’s Women’s Network. Prior to State Street, Yvonne served as Director in Marketing and Distribution Strategy for Liberty Mutual and as Vice President for Bank of America’s China Construction Bank Strategic Assistance Program. In that role, Yvonne and her team created and implemented over five new Wealth Management Centers throughout China which resulted in over 80 centers currently throughout the country. Yvonne is a fully certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and applies that discipline, rigor, and process to every project on which she deploys.

Yago Martínez, Director Chelsea Business Foundation

Yago Martinez


Yago was born in Spain and got his degree in Architecture at one of the country's top schools. He completed a Master’s Degree in Building Pathology, and another in Healthcare Architecture. He has worked as a project architect on high-end residential, commercial, and healthcare projects in Spain and London, UK. Since 2012 he works for a major building products manufacturer from Germany and has been involved in some of the most iconic projects built in North America over the last ten years. He has completed courses in Finance and Accounting at Harvard Extension School and holds a Certificate in Commercial Real Estate from Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business.

Douglas Bruce Mauch

Born in northern Wisconsin. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Business Administration. Worked for Price Waterhouse & C0. In Milwaukee. Earned CPA license from State of Wisconsin. Worked for Chelsea Clock in positions of Controller, VP of Manufacturing, VP of Engineering, President & COO and currently VP of Operations. Served the community as Chairman Chelsea Licensing Commission, City Councilor, President Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, President Chelsea Rotary Club, President Friends of the Chelsea Public Library, Chairman Northeast Regional Private Industry Council, member of Chelsea Charter Commission and Charter Review Commission, Treasurer CEEP and member of the Board of Youth Services Managers. Married with one daughter.

Andrea Perez, Director

Andrea Pérez


Andrea has fallen in love with Boston’s historic architecture and diversity throughout the city. Today, she is an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers and board member of The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals.

Adriana Rojas Garzón

Adriana Rojas


Ms. Rojas joined Bain Capital Credit in 2010. She is a Vice President and the Assistant General Counsel based in Bain Capital Credit’s Boston office. Ms. Rojas was previously an Associate at Sullivan & Worcester LLP where her practice focused on credit transactions, corporate, securities and mid-sized private equity transactions. Ms. Rojas received an LL.M. from Boston University School of Law with concentrations in both Securities Laws and Financial Services Transactions, a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.S. from Boston College.
